Sing Around Nebraska Festival

The Nebraska Choral Directors Association is dedicated to excellence in choral music. With that in mind, the Sing Around Nebraska Festival was organized for Nebraska 4th, 5th and 6th graders on an every-other-year basis. Students from all across the state rehearse a group of songs. In February they travel to various sites around the state, meet students from other schools who have rehearsed the same songs, work with a clinician and present a concert in the afternoon. Ainsworth had thirteen students who qualified.
These students traveled to Bartlett, NE, Saturday, February 23rd, to sing in the biannual Sing Around Nebraska Festival. The students, having rehearsed with Mrs. Bejot since December 1st, joined students from Arcadia, Boone Central, Burwell Elementary, Clearwater, Loup County, O’Neill, Sargeant, Spalding Academy, St. Michael’s, Stuart, Valentine and Wheeler Central to form a choir of nearly 150 students. Guest Clinician for the day was Kathy Lenertz from Crete. Many thanks goes to the parents who supported their students in their music interests!
