February Birthday Celebration and “Star Performance” Tribute
...elementary students recognized for birthdays and star performances!
March 04, 2008
On Thursday, February 28, 2008, McAndrew Elementary students, faculty, and staff gathered in the hallway for an all-school assembly. First, everyone recited the Pledge of Allegiance and sang three patriotic songs. Next, we recognized all the students, faculty, and staff members who had birthdays during February.
In addition, we honored students who gave “Star Performances” during the month. “Star Performances” can be an outstanding effort in the classroom, a kind act to another student, or the achievement of a personal goal. Once a staff member has recorded a student’s Star Performance, the student’s name is thrown into a popcorn bucket. During McAndrew’s monthly assembly, two names are drawn from the popcorn bucket. The two lucky students receive a gift certificate to the Royal Movie Theater in Ainsworth.
This month we recognized students for successfully completing an entire set of lessons in Keyboarding class, for their accomplishments in the Spelling Bee, for being extraordinarily good at recess, and many more wonderful acts of kindness or accomplishments.
February winners were Maria H. and Luke P. Congratulations!
