Constitution Game Show
The 7th grade American History classes demonstrated their understanding of the Constitution by competing in a Constitution game show on Tuesday, March 11. The students in each class period were divided into teams and asked questions pertaining to the Constitution. Teams responded by buzzing in and giving the correct answers. Questions asked included:

What is the purpose of the Preamble to the Constitution? (it states the purpose of the Constitution)

What was America's first plan of government? (Articles of Confederation)

How is the number of each state's representatives to the House of Representatives determined? (by population)

What are three requirements for becoming president? (you must be at least 35 years old, you must have lived in the US for 14 years, you must have been born in the US)

How many judges are on the Supreme Court? (9)

What is graduated income tax? (the more you earn, the more tax you pay)

When does the president take office? (Jan. 20 following
the election)

Who was given the right to vote in the twenty-third Amendment? (people living in the District of Columbia)

and many other details from the Constitution. Teams from each class period answering the most questions correctly were given prizes which were donated by Pamida. This was a fun academic game about the Constitution and we all enjoyed the competition.
