Angela Campbell Visits 4th Grade

Former Ainsworth student and current attorney, Angela Campbell, visited the 4th grade students on Friday, March 14, 2008. Angela graduated from Boston College Law School in 2002 and then went to work as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in Des Moines, Iowa. As an Assistant Public Defender, Angela represented four Guantanamo clients. While representing these clients, Miss Campbell traveled to Guantanamo and Afghanistan to talk to members of her clients’ families. Recently, Angela returned to Afghanistan to visit one of her clients who is still being held in jail in Afghanistan.
On Friday, Miss Campbell shared some of her experiences traveling to Afghanistan. She explained the differences and similarities between Afghanistan and America, she shared photographs from her recent travels, and she answered all of the students’ questions. In addition, Angela talked to students about how she became an attorney and what kinds of cases she currently takes on as an attorney in a private law firm in Des Moines.
