Presenters and topics for the 7th annual "Experience":
- Chuck Butterfield, professor at Chadron State College---Grasses of the Sand Hills.
- Jim Swinehart, geology professor, UNL---Sand dunes of Nebraska in the late 1800's.
- Amy Koch, archaeologist with Fort Robinson Museum---Archeology Explorations of the Nebraska Sand Hills.
- Dennis Ferraro, UNL Extension---Snakes and lizards of Nebraska's Sand Hills
- Dr. John Carter, Nebraska State Historical Society---Introduction of cattle to the Sand Hills.
Conference registration fee: $35.00 through July 1 ($40 after July 1) Ð includes continental breakfast and lunch. 1/2 day registration-$20 (18 and under attend free with a paid adult registration.)
Optional escorted tour (with a fee) will be held on Wednesday, July 9th and Friday, July 11th. Persons must be registered for the Thursday Conference to participate in the tours. Tours planned for this year will include a fossil dig, Fort Hartsuff and the Calamus Fish Hatchery, Niobrara River geology, the Nature Conservancy and ranching, and Fossil Elephant kit (for teachers).
