If you are a high school student and interested in a library career, please contact the Ainsworth Public Library. The Nebraska Library Commission just awarded a $1,000 grant student stipend to our library to hire a high school student interested in working with library staff on a variety of projects and activities dealing with libraries. Plans are in motion to have the student do work in both the public and school library so the student will see how they differ yet are similar. This internship should function as a recruitment tool, helping the participant view the library as a viable career opportunity. Application forms will be available from May 19 to May 24 for any high school student interested. The participant will then be selected by the Ainsworth Library Board. Contact Gail Irwin at 387-2032 for more information or stop in at the Library. This project was supported in part by funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), Librarians for the 21st Century initiative, granted and administered by the Nebraska Library Commission.
