8th Annual Sand Hills Discovery Conference Announces Theme

“Sea of Grass: Revisited” is the theme for the 2009 Sand Hills Discovery conference to be held on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Ainsworth Community Schools. Featured presenters will be Dr. Mike Voorhies, emeritus professor of paleontology, Un-L; Allen Dutcher, state climatologist; Phyliss Stone, Lakota Sioux elder; Sarah Polak, director of the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center in Chadron and Dr. Richard Fruehling, M.D., family practice physician from Grand Island.
Hands-on tours are offered the days before and after (July 8 and July 10) the Thursday conference. This fascinating event will provide fun learning and could be a great Nebraska vacation for families.
One-hour of college credit, either graduate or undergraduate, is available through Wayne State College.
