May and June Birthday Celebration and “Star Performance” Tribute
...elementary students recognized for birthdays and star performances!
May 21, 2009
Once a month the McAndrew Elementary students, faculty, and staff gather in the hallway for an all-school assembly. At the assembly, we recognize all the people who had birthdays during that month. On Wednesday, May 20, 2009, we recognized everyone in our school family who celebrated a birthday in May and June.
We also honored students who gave “Star Performances” during the month. “Star Performances” can be an outstanding effort in the classroom, a kind act to another student, or the achievement of a personal goal. Once a staff member has recorded a student’s Star Performance, the student’s name is thrown into a popcorn bucket. During McAndrew’s monthly assembly, we draw two names from the popcorn bucket. Those two lucky students receive a gift certificate to the Royal Movie Theater in Ainsworth.
This month’s winners were Cady C. and Sam G. Congratulations!
