Sing Around Nebraska

Saturday, February 20th, eleven sites across Nebraska played host to over 1600 students participating in Sing Around Nebraska. Sites included Omaha, Lincoln, Beatrice, Pierce, Columbus, Bartlett, Grand Island, Kearney, Lexington, Hershey, and Kim ball. Eighteen 5th and 6th graders from Ainsworth Community Schools traveled to Bartlett to participate with students from Arcadia, Boone Central, Burwell, Clearwater, Loup County, Santee, Sargent, Spalding, Stuart, Valentine and Wheeler Central for a combined choir of 135 singers. Sing Around Nebraska is held every other year and is sponsored by Nebraska Choral Directors Association. NCDA is dedicated to excellence in choral music. It is this dedication, combined with the belief that art must be experienced, especially at a young age, which inspired the organization to support the development of these festival concerts. Ainsworth has been participating since 1996 and has had nearly 100 students participate.
