“The state tournament was a nice way to end the season,” commented Coach Mary Rau. “We were a little disappointed when three of our events came so close to making finals, but that’s the way it goes in Speech. It’s an honor to be able to participate at State.
“Our district proved to be pretty tough this year. Seven of the nine events had at least one District 6 finalist. Class C1 was again dominated by champion David City and runner-up Raymond Central. I’m satisfied to see Ainsworth in the top 10!
“It’s been a very fun year. We’ve won lots of medals and some team awards as well. The support and encouragement that we’ve received from parents, the school, and the community have been unbelievable. Just knowing that people pay attention to how we’re doing means a lot.”
