District Music Results

    District Music Contest was held in O’Neill, Friday, April 23rd.  Ainsworth Choir and Band students participated.
    Receiving a 1, Superior rating and being awarded a state medal, were the Band, Mixed Chorus, and Swing Choir.

    Also receiving a 1and a Superior rating were Tessa Jacobsen, flute solo; Emma Goodloe, clarinet solo; Conner Kozisek, alto sax solo; Jedd Raymond, alto sax solo;
Maggie Steinhauser and Tessa Jacobsen, flute duet; Nate Rau, tenor sax solo; Brandon Clark, Jayne Barrow, and Kaylee Larson, low brass trio; Jon Theis, trumpet solo; Vance Heyer, tuba solo; Lars Johnson, tuba solo; Kayla Klammer, vocal solo; 
Ciara Philben, vocal solo; Emma Goodloe, vocal solo; Aaron Goodloe, vocal solo;
Devron Crawford, vocal solo; Maggie Steinhauser and Savannah Clapper, vocal duet; Megan Maxwell and Rhe’Ann McBride, vocal duet; Tessa Jacobsen and Kayla Klammer, vocal duet; Whitley McBride, Rhe’Ann McBride, Megan Maxwell, and Lars Johnson, mixed vocal quartet; Devron Crawford, Ciara Philben, mixed vocal duet; Skyler Jacobsen, Tessa Jacobsen, Kayla Klammer,  and Vance Heyer, mixed vocal quartet; and Devron Crawford and Lars Johnson, vocal duet.
    Receiving a 2 and an Excellent rating were Kaela Syfie, Jon Theis, Emma Goodloe, mixed vocal trio; Savannah Clapper, Maggie Steinhauser, Devron Crawford, and Conner Kozisek, mixed vocal quartet; Kellie Sholes and Emma Goodloe, clarinet duet.

    The judges repeatedly praised the efforts of the students. One choir judge wrote, “It is a pleasure to hear this choir. They are focused and presented fine literature! Well done!”  A band judge wrote, “You have a fine ensemble!  You may be a small group, but everyone is doing their part and you are very well rehearsed!”
    Mrs. Bejot and Mrs. Hotchkiss were very pleased with how the students placed. They stated, “The student musicians have worked very hard the past few months, and it certainly showed in their ratings.”
