Ainsworth High School had thirty-three students travel to Chadron on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 to participate in the annual Scholastic Day at Chadron State College. Students took a total of 48 tests in many different subjects as well as created a drawing from a still life arrangement, wrote a story from a prompt and analyzed a literary work. The college had several activities for students to participate in during the time they weren’t testing. Students placing in the top three spots for their tests earn medals and students placing in the top 25% of their tests receive awards of merit and scored points for the school. Ainsworth placed in 17 of their 48 tests, finishing second of thirteen schools in Division IV. Students from thirty-two schools competed on the college campus.
Medalists from Ainsworth were Megan Jones winning gold in the VeterinaryScience test, David Cook won silver in World History, Kristofer Hitchcock won bronze in General Science and Puridy Haley won bronze in Personal Finance. Students placing in the top 25% of their tests include 4 th Erick Hitchcock in American History, 5 th David Cook in Nebraska History, Skylar Flageolle in General Biology, and Aiden Rowley in Business Law. Placing 6 th in their tests were Sam Titus in American History and Erick Hitchcock in both Chemistry and World History. Seventh place finishers were Colby Beegle in American Government, William Biltoft in American Government, Ben Clingman in Algebra II and Kristofer Hitchcock in Plane Geometry. Aiden Rowley placed 9 th in Animal Science, Easton McMillin placed 10 th in AnimalScience.
