On Saturday, January 24th, a few members of the Ainsworth High School Speech Team braved the wintry weather to compete at the Bow Invite Speech Meet in Broken Bow. Competing for the Varsity Ainsworth team was Raelynn R. in Extemporaneous and Program Oral Interpretation. Competing on the Novice side of competition, Jodie D. and Jessica C. competed in Persuasive and Poetry, respectively. Jessica earned a 4th place medal in Novice Poetry.
The Speech Team was in action again on Saturday, January 31st at the HNS/CCHS Invite in Hartington. This meet is traditionally very competitive, and this year was no exception. The lone medalist for Ainsworth was Jessica C., earning 3rd place in novice poetry. The Varsity and Novice speakers received valuable feedback from judges, and they are already hard at work improving their speeches for the West Holt Speech Invitational on Saturday, February 7th.
