Ainsworth Community Schools

Ainsworth Community Schools has adopted a new five-year Strategic Plan to guide decisions and focus efforts on student success, strong partnerships, and responsible use of district resources. The question and answer section below provides additional detail about what the plan is, how it was developed, and what it means for students and families.

What is the district’s new strategic plan?

The strategic plan is a five-year blueprint that outlines clear priorities, goals, and actions for Ainsworth Community Schools. It is designed to ensure district resources are used wisely, goals are well-defined, and progress can be measured. The plan also promotes transparency and accountability across all levels of the district while helping guide decisions to meet both current and future student needs.

How was the strategic plan developed?

The district partnered with the Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB) Board Leadership Team to develop the plan. Input was gathered through online surveys completed by administrators, board members, staff, students, parents, and community and business leaders. A total of 364 surveys were completed. In addition, facilitated community engagement meetings allowed stakeholders to share ideas, perspectives, and priorities. The feedback collected ensures the plan reflects the values and expectations of our community.

Why was community involvement important?

A strong strategic plan is developed using the voices of the community it serves. Feedback from families and community members helped ensure our district’s goals align with community values and expectations. This collaborative approach strengthens school-community partnerships and creates a shared vision focused on what matters most: our students.

What happens now that the plan has been adopted?

Our Strategic Plan will be used as a guiding framework for decision-making, goal-setting, and resource allocation over the next five years. The plan identified three key priority areas, known as Guiding Principles, that will serve as areas of focus for the district’s efforts:

  • Personnel Effectiveness: Our teachers and staff play a vital role in student success. The district is committed to helping them succeed through comprehensive onboarding, meaningful professional development, and opportunities to collaborate and share voices in decision-making.

  • Family and Community Partnerships: Strong family and community partnerships are a cornerstone of student success. The district will focus on clear, consistent communication, build community partnerships that enhance classroom experiences, and create meaningful opportunities for families to be involved in their child’s education.

  • District Resources: The district remains committed to fiscal responsibility while also maintaining safe, functional learning spaces and focusing on attracting and keeping high-quality staff to meet the evolving needs of students, families, and the community, both now and in the future.

How does the Strategic Plan benefit students?

The Strategic Plan helps identify what is working well, where improvements are needed, and how the district can best support every student. By focusing on measurable goals and thoughtful planning, we are positioned to create a learning environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
