Ainsworth Community Schools has been made aware of a cybersecurity incident involving Canvas, the Learning Management System we use for curriculum materials, assignments, and grading. Last night, Canvas was placed in maintenance mode to contain the threat. As of this writing Canvas is available to most users including ACS students.
Canvas stores limited student and staff information. We do not store sensitive data such as Social Security numbers, medical records, or financial information within the system. According to information provided by Canvas, the data involved in this incident may include usernames, school email addresses, and messages sent within Canvas. At ACS, these messages are primarily assignment-related feedback between faculty and students.
Ainsworth Community Schools takes cybersecurity seriously and is actively monitoring the situation. Many schools are encouraging students to be vigilant about phishing emails related to grades, coursework, or Canvas accounts for the next few weeks. This should not be an issue with ACS students as outside email is blocked on student accounts.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact Laurie Goodloe, our Technology Coordinator.
Thank you

Day 4 of Teacher Appreciation Week, and today we’re celebrating the relationships our teachers build every single day.
Great teaching starts with connection, and our staff does an incredible job creating classrooms where students feel seen, heard, and valued. Those relationships are the foundation for learning, confidence, and growth. It’s the smiles at the door, the check-ins throughout the day, and the genuine care our teachers show that make a lasting difference. Our students are lucky to be surrounded by such supportive and compassionate adults!

Day 3 of Teacher Appreciation Week, and today we’re celebrating the impact our teachers make that often goes unseen.
Behind every lesson is time spent planning, preparing, collaborating, and thinking about how to best meet the needs of each student. Our teachers invest so much of themselves to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
What makes our staff truly special is their willingness to go the extra mile. Thank you for all the behind the scenes efforts that make a big difference in the lives of our students.

Day 2 of Teacher Appreciation Week, and today we’re celebrating the heart our teachers bring to our school each day.
Teaching is so much more than lessons and standards. It’s encouragement, kindness, flexibility, and showing up for students no matter what the day brings. Our teachers consistently meet students where they are and help them grow, both academically and personally. Our staff makes a difference in ways that truly matter. Thank you for the care and dedication you pour into your classrooms every single day. It does not go unnoticed!
