The Board of Education will hold a work session/advisory retreat May 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the District Office. The purpose of this session/retreat is for discussion/advisory purposes only. No formal business will be conducted. This work session is open to the public. Agendas are kept continually current in the office of the Superintendent. Practice for Peter and Wendy is as follows:
Tuesday and Wednesday 3:30-5:45 ALL Students. Clouds can go home at 5:45.
All other students will stay until 8:00. Please pack a quick easy snack/supper.
Thursday is Dress Rehearsal 3:45-6:00. Because of the 2:00 school dismissal please feed them a snack before they come back at 3:45.
The performance is Thursday at 6:00 everyone is welcome!
We have a few spots left for summer school and would like to see if any other K-6 students would like to join in for summer school. Please call the school by Wednesday the 15th at the latest to get your name down. We will be calling you back a little later to confirm your student will be in summer school. Summer Band Camp!
The American Civics/Americanism committee meeting #2 will be held directly following the May 13, 2024, regular board meeting scheduled for 8:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. This is to satisfy the annual requirement as per LB 399.
Parents of students in middle school for the 2024-2025 school. A survey was emailed on Monday, May 6, and will close on Friday, May 10, at noon. If you have not yet filled it out, please take a moment to do so before the deadline. Your input is highly appreciated. Practices for the Missoula Children's Theatre will begin on Monday, May 13 at 3:40 in the Learning Center. The cast will be the same as auditioned for in January. The public performance is Thursday, May 16th at 6:00 pm in the Learning Center.
Due to the weather forecast, the HWY 20 Golf Invite hosted by North Central in Bassett will be moved to Tuesday, May 7th. Start time remains at 9:00 AM
The Track Meet in Valentine will start with field and running events at 10:00 AM. Admission will be $5 for adults and $4 for students this year.
Congratulations to Miranda, who has also qualified to attend the national contest for National History Day! Miranda placed third at the state contest with her junior individual documentary titled "Woodrow Wilson's Turning Point: How America Entered World War I." Since the second place winner cannot attend, Miranda has been invited to the national contest which takes place at the University of Maryland in June.

The Ainsworth High School Quiz Bowl team traveled to Hastings on Wednesday, April
24 th to compete in the ESU state quiz bowl. Thirty teams comprised the bracket for the double elimination competition. Teams are not separated by classes because each ESU sends the top two teams from their competitions. Ainsworth began the day by defeating Nebraska Lutheran. They were defeated in a close match by Southern Valley and were eliminated by Kearney. The top three teams for the day were Elkhorn North, Norris, and Elkhorn South. Ainsworth’s quiz bowl team finished the year with 10 wins and 9 losses. Team members include Cole B, Carlos P, Mason T, Grace G, Emma M, William B, Sam T, Ty B, David C, and Erick H.
